Dr. Monica Dougherty aka “Dr. D” was born and raised in the Central Valley.  She completed a bachelors in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience from UCSD and graduated with Honors from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine.  She practiced in Turlock as an associate and then owned Madera Veterinary Center for almost 10 years prior to selling it.  She now resides in Clovis with her two teens, husband, DustyBun the Golden Retriever and Jelli Belli the French bulldog.  She has a special place in her heart for squish faced dogs.   Dr. D enjoys working with dogs and cats as well as other small mammals like rabbits, rats, and guinea pigs.

Dr. D is an avid fitness enthusiast and a baker.  She has completed many half marathons, a full marathon, some sprint triathlons and even a half Iron Man.  She currently enjoys heavy weight lifting.  Dr. D also loves baking and eating amazing breads, cookies and all manner of sweet treats.  She claims that she works out just so she can stuff her face with brownies at the end of the day.
