Dr. Govea was raised on a small ranch in Morgan Hill, CA. Throughout her youth, she spent most of her time raising and showing various animal species including dogs, dairy goats, horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle, and more. She attended college at California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where she obtained her B.S. in Animal Science. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Michigan State University, graduating with honors. When not working, she enjoys exploring the outdoors (preferably mountains or beaches), traveling, eating at taco trucks, and spending time with her husband, Jesse, and their three beloved dogs, Dixie (Basset Hound), Georgia (Bloodhound) and Tilly (Chihuahua mix). She often spends time at her family’s ranch property near Mariposa, CA, tending to their herd of Belted Galloway cattle and riding horses.
