Canine Rehabilitation Services

Pet Medical Center and Spa is leading Central California in offering comprehensive canine rehabilitation services for pets recovering from surgery, injury, illness, and deconditioning to improve mobility, manage pain, improve strength, and restore function.

Services include three levels of care, including wellness and conditioning, a comprehensive arthritis care program and intensive, individualized rehabilitation services.

Pawsercise® is a unique canine wellness and mobility program for dogs who need to shed pounds, gain endurance, protect arthritic joints or limit strenuous activity.  Individualized pet evaluation and rehabilitation treatment services are available for dogs with mobility problems related to orthopedic, cardiac, neurological conditions and cancer. The 6-week class includes gentle low stress exercise, established principles of joint care, key muscle stretching and strengthening exercises, nutrition education, brushing and massage in addition to progressive low impact aerobic exercise to music.

Pet Medical Center services are offered in consultation with a physical therapist, administered on-site by our staff and supervised by our veterinarians.  Aquatic exercise in Pet Medical Center’s state-of- the-art Ferno Canine Hydro-treadmill & Swim System, the only in Fresno, has been quite popular among rehabilitation clients, as well as providing conditioning for canine athletes.

Initial consultations may be scheduled on Tuesdays.  A board-certified surgeon is available for consults as well.   Rehabilitation services are available Monday through Friday after initial consultation.  Services are available for our clients and referrals are accepted from other veterinarians, as well.
