| Cassie Arredondo | | Receptionist |
Cassie was hired in April of 2005 as a boarding assistant, she then moved to a receptionist position. She enjoys taking her Pit Bull mix to the Dog Park, walking, spending time with friend, and family. Cassie married her best friend, Miguel, in 2007. The Arredondo family includes their human child, Allie (born July of 2007), and her two furry children, Chui, a Pit Bull mix, and Nina, a 16-year-old cat. |

Michele has a B.S. in Ag Business from Fresno State University and has been at Pet Medical Center and Spa since April of 1997. Michele and her husband, Ken, of twenty-eight plus years have two daughters Nicole who graduated from St. Mary’s college and Ashley, who is attending Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. Michele enjoys wine tasting, camping, gardening, and going to concerts. The Basso family has a Golden Retriever named Bella, an orange tabby named Champ, and two rabbits. |

Wendy graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in 2000. She came to work for Pet Medical Center in the Fall of 2002. She enjoys playing with her son Morgan, going to the gym, going out dancing, listening to music, and taking trips to the coast. Wendy and Morgan have a Boxer, Pirate. Wendy assisted in delivering Pirate and his siblings via c-section. Morgan and Wendy also have an orange cat named Morris and many fish. Jake, Wendy's beloved Boxer, crossed the Rainbow Bridge in November of 2006 and is deeply missed. Wendy says she enjoys working at a state of the art hospital because it’s nice to know our patients are getting wonderful care. Wendy and Morgan love Pirates of the Caribbean, especially Captain Jack. |

Jamie enjoys snowboarding, watching the Oakland Raiders, and David Copperfield. Her family consists of three cats, Tigger, Raider, and Bubba. Jamie's only dog, Sasha, crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2007. Raider and Bubba are brothers and were rescued by Jamie when someone left them behind a dumpster. Jamie says she enjoys the time she gets to spend with our patients and thinks of them to be members of her extended family. |

Ashley was hired in June of 2007 as a receptionist and shortly after became part of the boarding staff. She enjoys outdoor activities (snowboarding, camping, swimming, and riding her bike), spending time with her family and friends, traveling, school, work, and shopping. She would like to pursue a career in teaching. Ashley and her boyfriend, Joseph, have a dog named Mitchell, Dewey the cat, and a Ball Python, Bernard. |

Ashlee is currently attending school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Ashlee and her husband, Brian, have two Pugs, Pumba and Jersey (Jersey is an SPCA rescue) and a Bearded Dragon. She enjoys dancing, reading, riding street bikes with Brian, and spending time with her Pugs and friends. |

Dr. DuMars was raised in Pennsylvania on a farm. She moved to Idaho after high school where her father retired. Lee-Ann graduated from the University of Idaho with a BS. She studied Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University. After graduating she decided she was tired of rain and cold weather and came to practice in California. Starting off as an equine practitioner, Lee-Ann switched to small animal medicine after six months. For three years she worked at a veterinarian practice before opening her own practice in 1992. When not working, she enjoys horseback riding, family activities, such as baseball and soccer games. Lee-Ann and Bob live in Clovis on property where they house a conglomeration of pets, including horses, pot belly pigs, dogs, fish, rats, cats, and a lamb and goat. She has a son named Tyler and a daughter Rianna. |

Michele received her Veterinarian Technician degree at Colorado Mountain College in 1985. She worked in Colorado for four years at a veterinarian clinic. Michele then moved to Fresno where she worked at Elaine’s Animal Inn until mid-July of 2006. Michele states she is extremely happy to be getting back in to the veterinarian field. She has three Bouviers: Viani, Chase, and Kodi. Recently she added, Cruizer, a mini-Australian Shepherd, to her family. She is very active in the Mutts in Motion Flyball team and she competed in tournaments and participates in demos with Chase; Kodi is in the learning stages. Michele is also active in the Bouvier rescue and dog training. |

Michele has been working in our boarding and Doggie Daycare since October of 2007. Her interests include: shopping, hanging out with her friends, family, and boyfriend, working on her 1966 Mustang with her dad, and reading. Michele has two cats, Jack and Squirrel. She is currently attending Fresno City College with hopes of attending Fresno State. She’s not completely sure what she wants to after school, but know she wants it to be with animals. Michele adds, "I love kitties and Japanese food!" |

| Mechelle Fuchs | | Receptionist |
Mechelle was hired in December of 2005. She took some time off to stay at home with her two sons, Alexander and Andrew. Mechelle returned to work as a Saturday receptionist in the Spring of 2008. Her hobbies and interests include reading, painting, out door sports with the kids, getting as much sleep as possible (with two boys, that’s got to be tough), and hanging out with friends. The Fuchs family, including Mechelle’s husband, Tim, have three dogs (Chewbacca, Malla, and Legolas), fourteen box turtles, and two fish (Pooh and Eeyore). |

Before coming to Pet Medical Center, Myrna worked at CSU Fresno Quarter Horse unit for three years. She did everything from cleaning to breeding horses. In the coming years Myrna plans to complete her Animal Science major at Fresno State. Myrna comes from a family of six. She was raised in Dinuba and grew up with her parent's two Chihuahuas. Marriage has added three new members to her family, including her niece who was born in May. Myrna has two horses of her own, which she enjoys riding. On her time off, Myrna enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend. |

Ruth Ann has been grooming for twenty years. Before working here, she was a grooming manager, grooming teacher, and merchandise manager. She learned to groom back home in Pennsylvania. Ruth Ann enjoys watching old movies, wine tasting, traveling, cooking out on nights with her husband, and sitting on the beach. Ruth Ann has four grown children and a Dachshund/Chihuahua, Abby. |

Jessica joined our team in April of 2008 after working as a veterinary technician in Tucson, AZ for almost two years. She enjoys reading Dean Knootz novels, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. Jessica has three children, Destiny, Antonio, and Fayte. She also has three Pit Bulls (Dosia, Thiz, and Cutty) and one Red Ear Slider turtle, Cutie. |

Jana has worked at Pet Medical Center since December of 2004. She currently supervises Boarding and Doggie Daycare, filling in as a receptionist and veterinary technician as needed, in addition she manages the website. She has six dogs, Zecky, Hurley, Harley, Squirt, Lady, and Minnie. She also has three cats, Kahlúa, Scout, and Tripper. All of her animals have been rescued as Jana has been volunteering multiple dog rescues since she was 8 years old. She is currently working with Dog Bless, a Canadian based dog rescue. Her favorite color is hot pink. On her time off, Jana enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, animals, family, and friends, camping, visiting the Bay Area (having lunch at Alice’s in Woodside on Saturdays), working on the computer and watching TV (her favorite show is House). |

Dr. Johnston graduated from Clovis High is 1985. Four years later she received a BS in Zoology from UC Davis. She attended vet school at UC Davis and graduated in 1994. Before coming to Pet Medical Center in 2002, Dr. Johnston worked in Spring Valley and at Clovis Banfield for five years. She enjoys beading and gardening. Dr. Johnston's household consists of four cats and two Chihuahuas, Lilah and Minnie, who she says run the house. Her favorite color is purple. She is a rabid recycler. |

Beth has been a registered veterinary technician since 1987 and started working for Pet Medical Center in January 1996. She has been married to her husband Todd for over eighteen years. Together they have two daughters, Emily and Sarah. The Kroeker family also includes their cat, Hi Top and Labrador mix, Tucker. |

Shawnna graduated from San Joaquin Valley College in 2002. She has worked at Pet Medical Center and Spa since February of 2005. Shawnna has been with her husband Doyle for over a decade. Doyle and Shawnna have two children, Brendyn and Alyssa. On her time off Shawnna enjoys riding her quad, camping, puzzles, reading books to her children, and helping stray animals find good homes. She mentions she loves the outdoors at all times and her favorite color is hot pink. The Lenard family also has a conglomeration of animals: Caine the Pit Bull, a Cocker Spaniel mix named Girlfriend, two cats (Cut and Season), two box turtles, and a bearded dragon. |

Yolanda has been hard at work as our custodian since December of 2006. She enjoys eating Japanese food, taking vitamins, relaxing, getting massages, and being with her family and grand kids. Yolanda has three daughters, two sons, and six grandchildren. Five dogs, two birds, and two fish are also part of the Lopez family. Yolanda loves to meet new people and have a lot of fun. She is always willing to help people in need. One day she would like to travel. |

Before starting to groom dogs twenty-four years ago, Nancy was a hairdresser. Nancy has a lab named Max, a pug mix named Elway, and Honey, a Siamese. She has three children. Nancy enjoys attending dog shoes (Max is a retired show dog), traveling, having a good glass of wine, and listening to classical music. |

Kelly McElhinney | Practice Manager |
Kelly was raised in Massachusetts. She received a B.S. from UMASS-Amherst, where she majored in Biology and minored in Wildlife and Fisheries. In May of 2008 she came on board as our Practice Manager. Kelly is an avid scuba diver and holds a NAUI Divemaster Certification. Kelly and her husband of six years, Sean, are very active in the local dive community and are founding members of the Fresno Scuba Club. Kelly is currently finishing up a masters program and looks forward to completing her MBA degree. Kelly and Sean have four mixed breed dogs She also enjoys underwater and live concert photography, travel, hiking with their pets, gardening, visiting the Dog Park, live concerts, and ice hockey. |

Sarah Mahlman | Kennel Assistant |
Sarah was hired in August of 2008 as part of the boarding staff. Her interests include, educating the public of the importance of spay and neuter, going to off-site adoptions with the SPCA, protesting AB1634, hanging out with friends and family, dancing, and going to Cayucous every chance she gets. All of her animals were adopted from the CCSPCA, Sushi (Shih-Tzu), Lily (Heinz 57), Sumo (exotic short haired cat), Linus (Persian), and two Leopard Geckos (Sobe and Lenny). In 2009 she plans on attending college to become an RVT so that someday she can work at an animal shelter in San Luis Obispo. |

Jesse is a graduate of San Joaquin Valley College. When away from work, she enjoys reading, spending time wither boyfriend and good friends, watching movies, and spending her family and pets. Jesse’s furry canine brothers, Spike and Toby, live with her parents and sister in Madera. Her cat Ella and Shih-Tzu mix, Stanley Winston, live with Jesse in Fresno. Jesse is a HUGE Harry Potter Fan, she dreams of attending Hogwart's School of Wizardry. |

Bob is married to Lee-Ann. Bob attended Fresno State for his undergraduate degree. Bob has a Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety & Health as well as an MBA. For twenty years he worked in the paramedic field. Bob previously ran 911 paramedic systems in Fresno, the City of San Diego and Alameda County. When not at work, which is very rare, he enjoys golf and gardening. Bob not only is the office manager here, but he also wears many other hats. At home he has numerous animals to tend to. Wilbur, an American Bulldog puppy who was fostered by Bob and his family since he was ten days old, recently became a permanent member of the household. |

Sherri has been working at Pet Medical Center and Spa since November of 2004; she has a degree in computer programming. She enjoys boating, riding her quad, sewing, good wine, and barbecues with her friends. Sherri has been married for over fourteen years, to Brian, and has a teenage daughter, Ria. Moosey, a lab mix, and Wiggins ( Mr. Wiggles), a terrier mix, also reside at the Whittaker house. |

Derek has been a part of our team since February of 2008. His interests include: Patient care, emergency medicine, Pugs, Pugs, Pugs, singing and acting, fine dining, reading, knitting, taking Bravo to the beach, and biking with friends. Derek and his boyfriend Jeran, have a Pug named Bravissimo (Bravo for Short), and two cats; Archibald Beasley Crow III and Edwin. |

Carol was first hired in November of 1999. In early 2004 she took time off due to being pregnant with twins! Now that her children (Kayley and Jacob) are older (they just started preschool in the fall of 2008), she has returned back to work. Carol and her husband, Paul, have been married since 9/2002. The Ruff family has a Cocker Spaniel named Brandy and Sadie, a German Shorthaired X. Carol enjoys taking her kids to preschool (they love it), camping, fishing with her family, going to visit her brother at his house in Marina, we love the beach! |

Nicki moved to Fresno in August of 2006 for her partner's job. Before coming to Fresno, Nicki was a District Manager at a retail establishment for the past four years. Nicki's hobbies include shopping, watching movies (her favorite is An Affair to Remember), and spending time with her family back in Texas. Nicki and Traci have two dogs, Lucy (Chihuahua) and Idgy (Pug). Nicki and Tracy welcomed Emerson and Greyson into the world on 9/23/2008! |

Christina has worked with our daycare and boarding animals since December of 2007. She is currently a student at Fresno City College working towards a degree in wildlife zoology. Rehabilitating wildlife is her passion, and she is currently volunteering for Fresno Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Service. In her spare time, she is involved in the Renaissance historical reenactment group, The House of Tudor, ensemble member of Fresno’s Epic Theater, playing video games, and studying the Japanese language. Christina’s life long dream is to travel the world; she’s already been to England, Scotland, and Japan. Her favorite pastimes are spending time with her fiancé, Adam, and their fur-babies; Kitty and Freya (cats), and their newest edition, Momo (Shiba Inu). |

Dr. Whala attended high school and community college in Reedley. Before attending UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, she was an assistant pathologist at VMC, a QA at Zacky/Foster Farms, and a vet tech at UC Davis. Dr. Whala has been a part of Pet Medical Center and Spa since April of 2007. Karen is married to Arron, and has three stepchildren, Katie, Shelby, and Codi. Skeeter, a terrier mix, and Trixie the Pomeranian watch over the Whala Family. Dr. Whala loves gardening, farming (if she had one), watching HGTV, studying Internet cases, traveling. Before becoming a veterinarian Dr. Whala interests include traveling petting zoo, endurance riding/western competition, and reading. |

Danielle has over ten years of working in the veterinary field. She has worked at Pet Medical Center and Spa since April of 2007. Danielle and her husband of ten plus years, Jeremy, have two children, Rebecca and Joshua. The Young family has multiple fur-kids; five dogs, Fred, Duke, Ella, Buster, and Lilah, Daisy the cat, a Guinea Pig named Snowflake, and a bunch of fish. Danielle loves going to the coast to camp, being with her family, and working with animals. She says she loves grooming, rescuing strays, and all herding dogs. |
